Sally and I voted this morning at 10 AM. No lines, no waiting, a lot of cheerful poll workers. When we took our daily walk at the mall prior to lunch I scored a free coffee from Starbucks.
Rumour has it Krispy Kreme is handing out free donuts, Brusters is giving a fifty cent discount and Bejn & Jerry's is giving out free small ice cream cones.
Gotta love the election day swag.

Man, you are so lucky! Not only does our town NOT have a Starbucks, we don't even have a Krispy Kreme (not to mention the high-falutin' Ben and Jerry's). It's a travesty, I tell you - a travesty! 8-D
That's true.
But I'd rather vote in a small town. When I lived in south Georgia, I knew each and every candidate. This election I know exactly one and I did not vote for him (old law school classmate and world class jerk). There were two soil and conservation district commissioners I couldn't find anything about.
So free swag, or actual knowledge about candidates?
Well, OK, I'll have to grant you that one.
But... since we don't live "within" the nearby town limits, we can't even VOTE for those officials, even though we know them. Yet we are still "counted" in the town school zone and population numbers (but no water, sewer, or garbage service). Well water. North Alabama. Drought. Ick.
All in all, I think I'd rather have a cuppa! ::grin::
