She was one of my favourite authors when I was young teenager. I believe that I've read everything she's ever had published. Even though the main character was a girl, I identified strongly with Meg Murry in Wrinkle in Time, because she was one of the few child heroes who wore glasses.
She was 88.

Genuinely sorry to hear of her passing. I never felt that her books were written for children, but for everyone. Guess I'll pull out 'Wrinkle in Time' for a sentimental read in her honor.
